Remote Kindergarten Pilot Program

Another option for providing kindergarten in remote Queensland communities.

As part of the Remote Kindergarten Pilot, 38 select state schools are offering an approved kindergarten program in a composite class with Prep and other primary school children.

The kindergarten program is being delivered for 15 hours each week during the school terms by each school’s teacher, with additional teacher aide support. Thanks to the pilot, children are enjoying learning experiences and face-to-face interactions with their teacher, as well as social interaction with other children.

The Remote Kindergarten Pilot complements the distance education program, eKindy which remains an option for isolated children to take part in kindy.
